Hytech Water was established in 1991 by engineers experienced in the Design and Build of wastewater plants constructed from 1985 onwards. Originally the company provided a full MEICA package for both sewage treatment works (STWs) and plants for the treatment of landfill leachate (LTPs). However, by 1993 the emphasis had shifted from STWs to LTPs, where it has remained ever since. By the late 1990's the company had grown sufficiently financially and technically to take responsibility for all aspects of a treatment plant – process and plant design, civil and MEICA works construction, plus plant and process commissioning.
Since the late 1990's we have offered — in addition to the LTPs — a design of Methane Stripping Plants developed jointly with Enviros Consulting of Shrewsbury. To date seven plants have been built.
In 2003 we started work on our first In-Vessel Composting Plant — a 15,000 tonnes per year, 6 lane unit for Viridor Waste to an Enviros Consulting design. We completed our second plant, for Scottish Water, in April 2006 — also a 15,000 tonnes per year plant — and we expect Composting Plants to contribute increasingly to our future turnover.
We are also investigating the potential of Membrane Bioreactors for Landfill Leachate Treatment, to be used either as a replacement for or an enhancement to the well established Activated Sludge Plants.
A number of the companies that we have provided services for in over twenty five years in the industry are listed on the right. You can also view a list of our recent contracts here.
